SPECTRUS - New line-up

Para quem não sabe, SPECTRUS é a minha banda, a banda onde eu toco e sou a guitarrista da banda. SPECTRUS é uma banda de heavy metal, e agora estamos com uma nova line-up na banda, com a entrada do excelente baterista Yago Magalhães, tá bom? =)

Eu estou muito felizinha com isto porque eu sempre fui a mais "thrasher" da banda e o Yago tem um gosto musical muito parecido com o meu, basta ver a camiseta que ele está usando nesta foto.  =D

For those who don't know, Spectrus is my band, the band where I play and I'm the guitarist. Spectrus is a heavy metal band, and we are now with a new line-up, with the entry of excellent drummer Yago Magalhães, okay? =)

I'm very happy with this, cause I've always been more "thrasher" between the band members and Yago likes bands that I also like, just see the shirt he's wearing in this photo. = D

E além disso, nós estamos todos aqui em família porque apesar da formação da banda ser muito nova, eu sou irmã dos fundadores da banda, o Danilo Paulus é como um irmão para mim, e ele já conhecia o Edu Melo a muitos anos antes da banda, e os pais do Yago são nossos amigos e acompanham a história da banda desde o seu início nos anos 80, então a banda é de fato um grupo de amigos agora.

Eu acredito que esta mudança no line-up vai trazer mais dinamismo e peso para o SPECTRUS, porque o SPECTRUS não faz referência nenhuma ao heavy metal oitentista, o SPECTRUS é uma banda de heavy metal contemporâneo, com altas doses de thrash metal de nossa parte e também com elementos muito originais e loucos, em especial pela contribuição musical do Danilo Paulus (vocal).

And besides, we're all family here because despite the formation of the band being too young, I'm sister of the founders of the band, Danilo Paulus is like a brother to me, and he already knew Edu Melo (bass) many years before band, and Yago's parents are our friends and they follow the story of the band from the beginning in the '80s, so the band is in fact a group of friends now.

I believe that this change in the line-up will bring more dynamism and more power to Spectrus cause Spectrus doesn't make any reference to heavy metal '80s, Spectrus is a heavy metal band today, with high doses of thrash metal on our part and also very unique and crazy elements, particularly the musical contribution of Danilo Paulus (vocal).

Eu acho que eu sou a única muçulmana do planeta que é guitarrista profissional de uma banda de heavy metal, tá bom? =D Ainda mais se levarmos em consideração que eu sou uma munaqaba, isto deve ser estranho ou então muito interessante para muitas pessoas mas para mim é perfeitamente normal...

Eu venho de uma família musical, onde todos tocam instrumentos e ouvem música, e o único que não tocava instrumentos musical era o meu amado pai, e ele tinha o melhor ouvido musical da família.

Eu comecei a estudar música com 8 anos de idade, meu primeiro instrumento foi o piano, e eu estudava piano clássico. Um dia o professor se atrasou para a aula e havia no canto da sala da escola de música onde eu estudava um velho violão... eu olhei para ele, e quando o professor chegou, eu comuniquei a ele que não queria mais estudar piano, eu queria tocar violão.

I guess I'm the only Muslim woman on the planet that is professional guitarist in a heavy metal band, okay? =D

Especially if we take into consideration that I'm a munaqaba, this should be very interesting or strange to many people but to me it is perfectly normal ...

I'm from a musical family where everyone plays instruments and enjoy music, and the only one that not playing instruments was my beloved father, and he had the best musical perception of my family.

I started studying music at age 8, my first instrument was the piano, and I studied classical piano. One day the teacher was late for class, and a guitar was propped up in the corner of the music school where I studied ... I looked at the guitar, and when the teacher finally came to class, I communicated to him that I no longer wanted to study piano, I wanted to play guitar.

Salafistas geralmente me condenam por eu ser uma mulher muçulmana que toca guitarra em uma banda, ainda mais por eu ser a única mulher da banda... mas isto é ok, eu não gosto mesmo deles, e eu ficaria muito preocupada com o meu caráter se eles gostassem de mim, tá bom?  =P

A foto que está neste post foi tirada na segunda-feira dia 25 de março de 2013, e não é uma foto profissional. Foi o primeiro ensaio da banda com a nova line-up, e para ser sincera nós tínhamos ensaio marcado com a ajuda do Eric Rossati, que foi baterista do SPECTRUS nos anos 90, e íamos apenas tocar um pouco e conversar com o Yago. Mas o fato é que tocamos apenas duas músicas e todos perceberam que ele era o baterista certo para a banda, a comunicação musical entre nós foi imediata.

Salafis generally condemn me cause I'm a Muslim woman who plays guitar in a band, even more cause I'm the only woman in the band ... but that's ok, I don't really like them, and I would be very worried about my character if they liked me, okay? =P

The photo is in this post was taken on Monday March 25 2013, and is not a professional photo. It was the first day of the new band line-up, and to be honest we had agreed a jam with Eric Rossati, who was drummer in Spectrus in the 90s, and we were just playing a bit and talk to Yago. But the fact is that we played just two songs and everyone realized that he was the right drummer for the band, the musical communication between us was immediate.

SPECTRUS ainda não foi oficialmente lançado. Estamos gravando o novo CD da banda, que deve ser lançado no segundo semestre deste ano, e em seguida deveremos fazer a primeira turnê da banda depois da volta às atividades.

Spectrus has not yet been officially released. We're recording the new CD of the band, which should be released in the second half of this year, then we should do the first tour of the band after returning to activities.
